I have been exploring with eCommerce platforms like woocommerce and wpcommerce and also with plugins used for word press to allow the ability of selling digital downloads as well as physical products. Does anyone know the best platform that would come with good shipping abilities and with lots of payment gateways besides the two above that can be used on a word press website? I find woocommerce is the best I have found so far, but maybe there could be another out there that I just have not found yet. Thank you all for your feedback. Anything you can help with word press as the CMS and point me in the right direction, that would be great.
Do you really need to use wordpress? CS-Cart has more than 70 payment methods integrated and good CMS abilities included into the platform.
Wordpress has a plugin in for Tradebit. You could use the Tradebit plugin for selling your stuff. It's faster and easier to integrate, and they'll handle all the processing for you. Another solution is Pay Gear. They offer their own script. It'a along the lines of Amember. With Pay Gear you could also offer an affiliate program, and their stuff is really easy to set up. Their payment gateways are Pay Pal, Google Checkout, and Authorize.net. That's really about all you need. This is stuff that can be set up quickly though. Not sure how much time you want to spend doing this. Best Wishes, Jinger
Thank you all for your replies and for the info you have provided. I will look at both and see what I can work with. Its all about what I can do and what I can't do, and what provides the best tools for my customers. Thanks again for taking the time to answer in this thread.
how about u try solecart..check out their features,,easy to install and its more affordable.easy to use..
Well, I used OpenCart for about 1 year and with few extensions and custom changes everything is perfect. In my opinion is the best (I tested many other before using Opencart).
In my experience, OS commerce is easily compromised and often targeted. There is simply not enough support behind it. I would go with Magento everytime and as you need features, you can upgrade as needed.
WordPress is better open source eCommerce platform in my view. As it is very easy to use and any layman can create their website using it without any problem. There are many built in themes are available for free you can use it for site. The configuration of these themes is easier than others. Many built-in components are available for free for sending mails and configuration of payment gateways.
Heh, that's funny. There is no worse cart on earth than oscommerce. Magento beats the stuffing out of everything listed here, hands down and in no uncertain terms. Nigel
I suggest you to choose between prestashop and magento for your ecommerce website. Prestashop’s open-sourced platform makes it ideal for any user to tweak, enhance, modify, and develop new features with ease. Magento is a powerful open source platform that can be combined with any eCommerce portal for the generation of highly flexible and customized eCommerce solutions.
