It really depends on the type of traffic your site is getting. There is nothing wrong with having both affiliate programs as well as ads. The best bet is trial and error. Find something that works and stick with it.

I earn through PPC and Adsense only.

 

Adsense done me no good either, in the end I just had a banner and link to my affiliate site so I was getting quite a few affiliate signups which earns me more in the long run

It depends on what you're good at. If you're a creative artist then you can earn money by designing websites & graphics. If you're good at writing you can get paid for writing articles and press releases.. You could also give online tarot readings.. You can get paid for helping online companies market their sites, etc... There are plenty of opportunities to make money online.

But I totally agree. I think by the tone of his post what he's really looking for is a 'J-O-B" to replace commuting time.

What Andrew posted is actually extremely valuable and something I will personally do for 2-3 small business at a time as I get better and better at marketing. I love what I do, so this is a great idea.
