What is the best monitoring system for VPS

    I am currently hosted at vps.net. I want to know what is the best monitoring system that can alert through email about server load, ram, and hard disk space.

    You can use either Nagios or Cacti. However, custom script can be used. You can hire somebody to build up such script.

    Since VPS is just a virtual server, can I install Nagios on top of VPS?

    You can also try 100pulse for monitoring, they send instant alerts through E-mail, SMS, Twitter and RSS feeds. You can monitor upto 2 website for free at 15 minute time interval..

    WHM >> Server Status >> Service Status can do most of thing.
    Services checked for monitor are monitored by cPAnel and mail is sent to root email address.
