I personally think affiliate marketing and creating your own products to sell is the best way to make money in IM. What do you guys think?

Make your own product, something you can ship or download like software/books.

    Definitely your own Product,
But having said that Affiliate sales are a great Income source as well.

But that's Just Me and each person is different, some make fortunes in CPA
Others make a fortune selling adspace, Others provide services.

Its important to play to your strengths and do the things you actually enjoy doing.

So I guess the real answer is:
The best monetization method is the one that you enjoy doing.

    Take Care

I agree I think it is best to have your own product. Once you have your own product, then you can market that product with an affiliate program. If you are selling anything, I recommend that you first learn everything you can about SEO, start an affiliate program by with affiliate software and also make sure you collect email addresses and have email marketing going? You have to give something away of value in exchange for peoples email address.

I feel like SEO is dangerous cuz Google is unpredictable. Too many algorithms and risks for penalties.

The method that works best for you and your audience.

Both affiliate marketing and product creation have worked well for me. Your own products allows you to stand out from the crowd and become more of an authority in your niche though.

If you're creating info products it doesn't have to take a long time. Just pick one problem to solve and turn the solution into a product. I can knock something like that out in a couple of days and I bet you could too.

The time consuming and difficult part is getting the sales copy created, finding JVs / affiliates and so on.

Network marketing is sometimes called MLM marketing. Basically, when someone buys a product your selling, they joint what's called a downline. You earn a little money from every member of your downline every month, as well as the people they recruit, so the more people you have, the more money you make. This also means that everyone must be satisfied with your product in order to stay in your downline.

If your company is not selling a real product and just offers a downline that everyone tries to recruit into, that's called a pyramid scheme, and you don't want that.

    I have a question. :D
Are you using network marketing for offline or online business?
If for online, how do you use it?

As google continually updates its algorithms and in effect makes it harder for affiliates to rank with google, i think using social media sites (facebook, pinterest, linkedin etc) would be the way to go in monetizing your products.
Rely less on google, build up a fanpage or a like minded group, and you have a hungry group of buyers their at your fingers..

Online. I'm affiliated with TrafficWave, which I use both as my autoresponder and as my downline. This is why I only go with companies that offer a product that I and the people I'm trying to connect with can actually use.

I'm also affiliated with GDI (Global Domains International), as I sometimes delve into the Japanese market and think it helps that you can type in foreign characters with a .ws domain. Hurray for keywords!

Email submit offers are the best for low quality young age traffic.

I think it's best to monetise in more than 1 way (not putting all your eggs in one basket, so to speak!). Affiliate marketing, product/service sales, and direct advertising.
