With those numbers you used all I would think you need to do is submit to 300 or so directories and you should be in the top 10 in a month or 2. It doesnt seem like its very competitive at all.
it has 162,000 searches a month could you point me in the right direction to find the directorys please
I think that the best thing to be done is to create a good site with good content and then update it regularly for 2-3 months. If your site has good content, then people will automatically want to link to you.
I think that theory needs to be shot down. Hope people just starting out never follow this because its being spread around saying that is what you need to do. Its kind of like the new page rank trap. Well from experience if you do this here is what will happen. You will get 0 visitors. The reason is because you still need to get your site indexed in order for people to find your site. They just arent going to go to your site directly. If you honestly think you are going to make a site and just depend on your content and other people linking to you then you are going to fail. I would guess only %5 of sites actually take off from this method. The other %95 requires work.
Inbound links will help Submit articles, post your site in your signature etc to help building links to the site.
WOW - U could SNEEZE and get that ranking... Back links is certainly the way to go (on page optimization is done, right?)... Here's are some Link building ideas and some other link building reference sources U should be able to get a few ideas... In the end.. some directory submissions and a couple runs of article marketing (or other method) and you should own it...
The number of possible competitors may not be so big, but if 30 of them are into heavy SEO, you may not get your site top page. But to aim a higher SERP, you need many backlinks. Backlinks from related sites, especially. Few reciprocal links won't hurt, but relevancy is the key. Hey thegypsy, is reliable-seo.com your site?
I don't think theres a best link strategy. Just read the stuff on this board and use a bit of everything.
