I've got to start a new website project for a friend, I want it to be a really successful business so the correct choice of keywords is essential. Please could you give me some advice on the best keyword research tool i can buy? Also any other good bits of software to help kickstart his site would be of a great help Many thanks Tom
The first thing to do is to look for the keywords that relate to the content in the site. The site adwords.google.com has a tool that gives a list of related keywords based on the search volume. Keywords that have a high search volume and less competition can be selected for a good position in the search engines. Analyzing your competitor sites will give you an idea of what keywords you can use.
It's almost like asking "what's the best flavor of ice cream"? Every keyword tool is different, but at the same time alot offer the same features. You can get the top 100 search terms from wordtracker for free and use googles own tool to find a lot of information, but you'll have to go the paid route if you want anything really really in depth..ie- kei/rs indexes and real long tail keyword analysis. I remember way back when, when i was using keyword country and found the ultimate tool. I made so much friggin money off using that tool and creating adsense sites based off of the long tail keywords i found there. No need to go the monthly paying route of using software, that's for sure. Just do some research on keyword tool reviews and go from there. Personally, i use keyword research pro right now, and i'm loving it. I've used keyword elite and a couple of others- i just like the way the program displays the data and how fast it is.
Hi there my article discusses my top 3 paid keyword tools if you would like to read. I think the best currently would have to be wordtracker. http://www.back-links.org/All-in-one-top-3-paid-keyword-research-tools.php
Hi firstmillion, My suggestion is to use google's keyword tool external, Otherthan that we have many other free tools like.. http://www.keyworddiscovery.com Digital point's keyword tool, http://www.goodkeywords.com etc.. spyfu is also one of the best keyword tool, but it's paid one.. you can try this tool for free for some time.. Cheers.
Use the Google tools, they are free and based on actual results from Google the most important search engine...Other tools such as Wordtracker arent based on actual data from Google or Yahoo and make heavy assumptions.
Google's Keyword tools and http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ are the best, IMHO. Wordtracker.com is good because it is very easy to copy and paste (or even drag and drop) their content into Excel for further analysis of your own. Further analysis I do is grouping similar or related words and phrases.
