    core 2 duo processor is very good instead of dual core.
    So buy core 2 duo processor.

    Hi, here's as far as i know and correct me if I'm wrong, from the lowest performance to highest performance
    dual core----->core 2 duo----->i3------>i5----->i7
    i5 in my opinion better for games, while i7 better for workstation or graphic design

    Close. The higher end core 2 duos out perform the i3's and some i3's are on par with the e8400. Then comes the core2quads i5 i7.
    The i7 does perform better in games but for the price difference You could just buy a better cooler, raise your clock speed a small notch and have the same performance for about 100 dollars less.

    Techjr is absolutely right. Higher end core 2 duos outperform some I series. Also, the the I series motherboards and processors itself are really costly - so it doesn't actually worth the money.

    And afterall, you can't run Windows XP on any processor above Core2Duo. So if you ever plan to run XP on your system, C2D is the way. (Well, atleast I do - Vista obviously sucks and 7 is also not as fast as my slipstreamed XP)

    Intel's new i3, i5 and i7 chips are a very good but its more expensive
    so, i think core 2 duo processor is best for all

    Intels i-series processors a realy top and fast. But unfortunately they are a way too expensive if you compare it with AMD processors that have almost the same performance.
    I thought about buying a i5 processor, but because of the high price i switched to a AMD Phenom X2 3,2ghz and unlocked it to x4.

    Any day i will get a Intel for sure :)
