What is the best hosting site for starting a shopping cart website?

    Any hosting will do. I pay $10/month and run a Zencart site. Hosting is cheap.

    As for design, you might want to look into buying an ecommerce template or if you wanna get real fancy, have someone design you a custom one, but that can be pricey.

    I just did a test install today of cube cart.

    I suspect it would run just about anywhere you get a database. $5-10 a month unless it is a very high volume site.
