What Is The Best Free Wordpress Forum Plugin?

I'm currently using Mingle on all of my blogs, but I want to know if there is a better one that you guys use? I know BuddyPress and WP have their own, but looking for something different that I might have overlooked.

 

I suppose it depends what features you're looking for, having never used Mingle I can't really compare directly but as a general rule Simpleress is by far my favourite.

BuddyPress is a bit . . . well . . . crap and lacks features but Simpleress is far superior with private forums and decent moderation and so on. It's also very very easy to install and integrate with an existing WP site. Unfortunately the default style is a bit out of date, but if you're willing to skin it then it can look awesome!

 

I forgot about Simpleress. There was something I didn't like about it, but I can't remember now. I'll have to look into it again.

 

BBPress, Mingle, VBulletin, Simple press, or tal ki forums , i use talki forums... It has FB and Twitter Integration ..and social logins

 

Talki seemed like they were just trying to sell their add-on services. Maybe I was wrong, but that isn't something I was looking for at this time.

Simpleress and BBPress are the only real plugins for Wordpress that integrate smoothly without too much editing. You might have a look at them, although I wouldn't really recommend those options. If you really want to build a community around the forums, I'd go with VBulletin. It's very stable and there is a lot of support behind it. I tried out both Simpleress and BBpress but ended up scrapping the projects I had going with them due to a lack in features.

 

You could also try FluxBB , Langauge - php , its really lightweight, fast and cool.

Best for beginners and small amount of traffic.

I just visited both sites. I love to try simple press. This is because it has Data Importer which can allow import data from other types of forum which is what I like.

I've used phpBB. It's not a plugin exactly but I was able to implement it with my wordpress site fairly easily.

 

i suggest SimplePress, BBPress, and Budy Press.
you must make plugin forums match in your themes.

 

I know there are many plugins and all, especially BBPress, but I've tried a few of them and in my opinion they are no match for a real forum script like SMF or PHPBB or vbulletin. You're better of if you integrate a real forum script in your wordpress.

BBPress, Mingle, Simple press,buddy press and vanilla forums .is there any free plugin for VBulletin .
