I'm personally a fan of www.everydns.net -- they were really good to me when I used them. before that, I used zoneedit, but like everydns a lot better.

everydns is one of the reliable providers, they have good reviews and service. I used them few months back or about 1.5 year ago, and they seemed excellent. But the best option is to get your own DNS on the server.

I think zoneedit is still free for the first 5 domains.

I feel the best one are DNSMADEEASY and DYNECT. If you want a free solution then choose OPENDNS or ZONEEDIT.
There is a detailed post on DNS SERVICE PROVIDERS. Read it.

Explanations are quite simple to understand. They have used videos and charts to explain the basic concepts. One important thing is the number one spot changes over a period of time. I mean to say that no one is permanently best or worst. So, do the research. I'm talking this about 2010.

    Not that kind of DNS.

Im using Cloudflare DNS for my site right now and it is flat out amazing. It even blocks botnets and zombies.

Free service and it has cut my bandwidth in half and provides more stats and more security for my site. The reason it has cut my bandwidth In half is because it blocks all the spammers. If for some reason it denies a wrong person you can add an exception for them to or flat out block them forever.

Back on topic though vie been using the free service ever since I got an invite for it from project honey pot. It works great on the free service the only thing you gain from the paid version is a few extra blocking techniques. Which are not really needed unless your running an massive operation.

I was having several problems with my ISP and later I found out it is due to their overloaded DNS server. It is always advantageous to use an external DNS in terms of performance and security. See this list of Best Free DNS Servers.

Did you ever heard that Hurricane Electric runs their own free DNS service?
    http://dns.he.net

I am using them for some time now. It reduced a lot of page respond time than ZoneEdit did. So I won't go for another yet.

Cloudflare is amazing. I started using them a few months ago and I now have a handful of sites on their system. So far it's been just great.

What's wrong with dyndns's free service? I have used it for several years without issue.

DynDNS's service is pretty nice (the free one). I personally use DNSMadeEasy. They have some very fast DNS servers and my sites are lightening fast.
