What is the best FREE php directory script? I have tried several and all have something missing. I know. I am cheap.

Most people consider phpld to be the best. I don't like smarty templates and prefer something I can mod myself.

My preference is indexscript and can be found there if you add dot com.

100% free with the footer link and a very modest removal fee.

I tried to install phpLD but couldn't get it to work. My hosting service tech support was stumped too. I installed php Weby and it was great. The only problem was that the mysql database had no prefix, which scattered everything. Any idea how I could add a database prefix on the install?

IS offers you the option to create one for the tables when it installs the tables.

Manually adding them for the other script is my only suggestion.

I like PHPLD for free but the paid version is much nicer, worth considering I would say.

Try my script. Its strong point is advanced custom fields management and cms (joomla like) content positioning.
