Any clue as to why Bing/Yahoo keywords track properly, but for Google keywords I get the error "Error returned from search engine: Bad Request" ? Before you ask, I have the php script installed on a PHP5+ server.
Possibly an invalid Google API key (check your preferences in the tool), or maybe you have API access in your Google account limited to certain IPs?
I was thinking it could be the API, I tried retrieving a new one, but the instructions seem outdated, and I couldn't generate a API. Any idea on how to go about getting one? Once at the Google API console where do I go... I don't see anywhere it mentions preferences.
I just checked, the link it gives you in the preferences is still valid. That should take you to your API console, and you can get your API key from the "API Access" tab.
Hmmm I tried that out previously. I see the blue button like in the image on the settings page, but there is nothing below that to grab the API key. Am I meant to click on the button to create the key?
It looks different, there is no where to create the key under the blue button on the "API Access" tab screen.
It is not free but the best usually are not, however it gives you details I prefer and is your most important concern in key word research - Competive Analysis with a few stokes.. Give Market Samurai a try, I think it will cost you $97.00 but in the long run, you will pay less by having the necessary tools you need to make good dections. This in not my only choice but it is one that came to mind and I use it.
I just noticed you are asking for a keyword tracker, none the less I believe Market Samurai does both, in terms of finding and tracking, including several other such useful tools. I believe it rounds out with around 10 tools, making it less than $10.00 dollars a tool. Roughly speaking of course
