I bet some people thought about this but never discussed it... Well lets get to the point of the question... What is a faster way to get a better Alexa rating using GEO? So lets put that into different words: Is it better to get traffic from all around the world or just the country you live in to boost your alexa rating? This question is for countries that have over 100 Million Residents... For example.... Is it better to get: 100,000 USA Visitors or 30,000 USA Visitors 30,000 UK Visitors 20,000 IN Visitors 10,000 CA Visitors 5,000 RU Visitors 5,000 DE Visitors They both add up to 100,000 visitors but does Alexa think getting traffic from all around the world is that your site is considered popular? Lets all discuss about this topic and do so tests to prove if it could be a fact.
If you get more traffic from say USA then Alexa will consider that geo as a primary source of traffic and will display Rank in USA when you check it on Alexa's website. Then there is also a global rank where Alexa shows rank of your website at a global level. Also, Alexa will show ranks from top few Geos. So its both, geo wise and a global rank. I think it doesnt really matters. But, i tend to consider their global rank tough. But keep in mind that this Alexa rank is just to get an estimate and not entirely accurate. Alexa collects data such traffic data to rank sites from those people who have installed their toolbar. Thats what i read over internet.
