Godaddy are the best in my opinion. Namecheap and Moniker are your best alternatives. If others dont agree? Why are Godaddy the largest domain service
That indeed is an interesting question Why is the VW Golf the most-bought car in Germany. Certainly not because it's the best Popularity and quality are two very different things. My vote goes to NameCheap. The're reliable, cheap (not the cheapest, but competitively priced), great management interface and good support. I recently also signed up with DynaDot (because Namecheap was having issues with their connectivity at the time and I needed a certain domain pretty fast). As far as I can tell after some testing they seem to be OK too and prices are fine. And Phil Craig recommends them in Domains Into Dollars. Tom
Has to be Namecheap I have over a 100 domains with them and have neve once had any problems and the domains are a fair price! cheers mrix
Yep, I agree - namecheap - I have had no problems with them and really like getting free privacy included.
my favories are estdomains.com and for cheap .mobil's* (1Euro the first year/ max 10 domains) i use united-domains.de *limited offer sometimes they offering .de's, net's and .com's for only 1 euro/the first year
As soon as I start buying some new domains, I'm definitely going with Namecheap. They have a great service, decent prices, and the free whois-guard is the perfect silver lining.
Different registrars have pluses and minuses. I have domains registered with: IPowerWeb.com -- I trust them the most. Only my main site is with them. They are HUGE and they offer a lot of flexibility and tools in the cpanel (vdeck). They are not the cheapest though. About $100 per year. Godaddy.com -- About 12 domains on their servers. About the least expensive. They lock down certain ports which makes integrating things such as credit card merchant accts impossible sometimes with some companies. Namecheap.com -- 4 domains with them so far. I discovered I can't seem to do a 301 redirect to an outside domain. 302 isn't the best. Prices are fair. I needed them for .us domains. Godaddy doesn't do them. hostway.co.uk -- Registered 4 .asia domains with them. They allow you to pre-register even without an asian contact. I think that's it unless I'm forgetting some domains. I can only speak from personal experience with these companies.
Foget about Yahoo, they suck. Godaddy is ok. When you say best, do you mean the most secure & respectable in the industry, if so, Moniker is the one for you.
I was just looking for on average what most people thought was the best...but I ended up going with goDaddy
namecheap, only because I can add money on my account, I like godaddy but paypal ruins it for me, because in order for me to purchase/renew a domain I need a credit card
Yes that is one downfall but most dont mind using a credit card if they have to as long as they trust the site
Go Daddy has every type of payment program you could use, Gift Cards, PayPal, Credit Cards and a Savings account type of service. Last time I checked domains held by go daddy was 20 Million. I did not see any other Registrars with even 10 Million names held. I use godaddy and cant complain about anything except the out dated reseller store front they have for there resellers.
I wouldnt mind using a Credit Card, but my parents do Greg, What other registrars had at least one super bowl commercial, which didnt even tell you about domains I think. Just a hot girl with a short shirt on
