I personally like PHP Link Directory best, with the deep links MOD. I wish there was a way to tell you which script I DON'T like, but I don't know the name of it, and don't want to post example directories because of any harm it could do to them.

I personally use PHPLD and I'm satisfied with it. I haven't got a clue of how the other scripts work, and I don't want to bother myself, since I'm satisfied with what I've got.

As you wait for more replies, search the forum for similar threads. They have a lot of threads comparing directory scripts, which you'd find useful.

I have used quite a few directory scripts, but have always come back to Esyndicat.
There are more pros than cons while using it.

I've coded templates now for phpLD, esyndicat and phplynx. I preferred coding for phpLD out of the three, phplynx was OK but I found esyndicat to be quite messy and over complicated.

As far as running directories go I find the admin panel of phpLD quite functional although very slow. phpLynx is pretty decent, it just needs several upgrades which I believe are in progress.

phpLD is good but all scripts make one extra deep link, due to this page rank does down of internal pages. You should use that script in that they use category name after url.

I would go with the most popular directory script because you will get more help from other directory owners. Then I would try other scripts once you know if the directory niche is your calling.

Why not have them all? One directory script for each directory!!!

I have a really good one I like, but will not share it publicly. No good business owner shares his best secrets.

I too have found that PhpLD is the best, plus you can get loads of templates for it.
