Thank you for wasting my time! (I read your sig)
And well, it doesn't have to be that solid, just the basics is enough. You'll learn all the rest while doing your thing. (I find that comming up with great database structures etc is much more difficult)

Oh. Thanks for reply. Well, i see you have good knowledge about those things.
Why don't you say if OpenX is the best one for people who can't develop one for themselves ? :)
    Especially in ClickFraud detection ?

I'm sorry, but I have never heard of OpenX, so I can't judge it either.
In my opinion there are two difficulties with judging click fraud.
    1) You never know the intention behind a click.
    2) There are quite a few ways to change your 'identity' on the internet. We can't for example stick an IP address to one computer.

This means that a 100% waterproof anti-clickfraud system isn't achievable (yet?). You'd really have to go combine a lot of factors to identify a single computer. The problem is then still not solved, because multiple people might be using the same pc. Of course it's possible to see through the obvious fraudulent actions, but yeah.

Yep That is true. You can never be sure if a click is fraud or not.
But there are some factors that make it easy when you are trying to detect Fraud Clicks.
Ip adress , Cookie , Browser name and version , Screen Resolution , and Operating system (not very sure)

Thoso factors does not totally stop Fraud. But actually them make it difficult to fraud.

Of course there must be sensitivity level also :)
such as time interval between same IDs. it may be 5 hours , it may be 12 hours or 24 hours.
Or The click should be judjed as a fraud when they are more than 1 or more than 3 or more than 4 :)

But i think The algorithm that google uses would be the best :) I think google even tries to detect it from Gmail. :)

What google does is something it can only do because of it's size. Google simply builds a profile for all of their users. They log your search habbits, seek through your mail if using gmail.
Like I mentionned, those factors are very variable. Myself I have 3 monitors, all of a slightly different resolution, and I have a dualboot with linux on my machine as well. For testing purposes I have installed like 5 different browsers, so changing isn't hard.

Depends on if you want a PaaS / SaaS platform or if you want to use your own servers.

Let's assume you want to use your own servers.
http://www.hyperseek.com/ is the oldest, with "Jackhammer" the most widely recognized and used script for a long time.

You would be surprised at how many small and a few decent sized networks use Prosearch and you can find it here http://nexus-soft.org/prosearch.php

There are several others - http://www.inoutscripts.com and http://orbitscripts.com/

If you do much biz, you may find one of the SaaS platforms a better way to go, especially if you nor your host stays on top of balancing server loads correctly.

    Hope it helps!
