I'm sure its been asked plently of times but I have a few developed website I am trying to promote. I just want the traffic, dont care about sales, because I'm not even selling anything

So what is THE quickest & cheapest (possibly free) to drive traffic to your site?

BTW, I have a somewhat high traffic website, how could I put that to my advantage for my other websites?

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For me article writing has been the best way to make money. Is it the quickest way? Not really. But if done correctly you can continue to get lots of targeted traffic to your site, and writing articles is free.

Quickest way to get traffic is via Traffic Exchanges but that traffic converts terribly. Article marketing is a very good long tern traffic puller. Safelists are another way to get quick traffic but again there conversion rates suck.

I think the social network is also a good choose. You should make friends first, then promote your site to your friends.

best, cheapest, and quickest? This is a tricky question, the best one is certainly SEO, but you need a lot of time. So if you are asking about best, cheapest, and quickest, it would be viral marketing. One thing you need is ideas. If you have the idea, it will cost you cheap, but if you hire someone to think about the idea it will cost you a lot. I recently made an article about viral marketing.

    Theres your problem right there.

best, cheapest and quickest LOL..come on man get serious.

There are many cheap and even free methods which are quick, but I wouldn't say they are the best:)

Anyway traffic exchanges, safelists, article marketing all work well if used correctly...best of all....are JV's:)

Traffic exchange sites. Horrible CTR but great for price, that's what I did. Use the one on digital point or adexchanged if blog use entrecard.

Been there done that on the PTC & article submissions.

I find it all just a waste of money

However I think traffic exchanges are good for websites that to not try to sell anything like a proxy server, or somekind of blog or humor website just for ad revenue

    thanks everyone for the suggestions

but what are the best traffic exchanges in your opinions?

Advertising in other webamsters' sites who have cheap rates.

Add them all up, and it, well, adds up.

If you want to make money, you are going to have to spend it.

I've found a lot of success using FlickR.

*IF* it's not spammy and of interest to the target audience. My site is dedicated to travel destinations. I have many articles on little known (or well known) locations in Canada. I simply repost some of my popular posts into a related FlickR group as a new topic. It's accepted by the group community because it's relevant and useful and at the same time I get LOTS of keyword rich DO-FOLLOW links from FlickR and a lot of visitors.

    Here is an example: http://www.flickr.com/groups/waterfalls/discuss/72157607349310760/
