I know Xen is close to a dedicated server and OpenVZ is close to a shared server. But now I have 2 options... 1GB Xen from Linode or 2GB OpenVZ from IntoVPS (with 4GB burstable RAM)... What is the best choice?
I heard that XEN vps has a good performance than the OpenVZ. But no personal experience with VPS plans yet.
With XEN you get better performance because your provider cannot oversell in the XEN platform where as with OpenVZ there is a lot of over-selling which affects performance.
Please no overselling talk... In every forum I see only this. Now im well aware of the overselling topic regarding openvz and xen... I want to learn the other aspects... Some say their sites use less ram in xen than in openvz.... Some say xen can be slower... I need to learn more!
Linode's performance is hard to beat. They are a very stable VPS provider. I almost always choose xen or KVM over OpenVZ unless it is my only choice.
