So I want to rank for 1000 keywords. The site has 100 pages and for each page I optimized for 10 nested keywords. But I want to rank for all those keywords for maximum exposure. How should I build the backlinks? Should I place a backlink for each keyword? Please those SEO experts advice.

In this case you need to do the syndication work aggressively. means write the regular content, article, PR and post it to best sites and put the link of your targeted pages.

IMO you can choose one most popular keyword for each page if you want to target all 100 pages. Other nested or long tail keywords will rank automatically. Because it takes time to target and rank all 1000 keywords. You can target other keywords afterwards.
