Hi guys! I started a few sites recently and I'm new to AdSense. I got about 600 Page Impressions all together, so far, but not a single click on the Ads. I was wondering does it take like 1000s of page impressions to see Clicks on the Ads? What is your opinion - what's the average conversion rate of Page Impressions to Clicks? Thanks!! (I know I need traffic to my sites, but I m not even sure Google indexed my sites yet.)
CTR too low is not a problem for google, is a problem for you. For most most of site, CTR is 1%~5%, for less content site or very very well optimized , CTR may > 5% however, most most of site, CTR >10% is unreasonable
Thank you, that's useful. But it is a problem for me, not for Google, as I like to make some extra money with Adsense,.
Lots of things influence your CTR. How well blended the ads are, how well Google can determine what your content is about so that they can deliver contextual ads - all this counts.
There is no optimum nor average ratio. Each website has its own ratio because it is depend on the niche / audience and website layout itself. If you want to boose CTR then a good layout designed is a must. Otherwise if you want to not being suspected with too high click ratio then I would recommend you keep ratio between 3-20%. I do ever had 20% ctr without a problem, of course it was not made from me. However, one my friend who generate his own clicks with a high ratio, 35%, get caught and account banned for a lifetime.
I would agree with that - for a non-forum site anything over 1% is OK, higher than 4-5% becomes a lot more difficult to achieve.
