What is the advantage of adding an RSS subscribe button/link

    Upon reading several ways to get exposure for a web site I saw this one "add an RSS subscribe button/link to your home page".

    Can you tell me why/how this might help with getting exposure for a web site?

    Most blogs I enjoy I don't visit in my browser. I don't have the time or energy to visit all of them. I subscribe to them using Google Reader and then read the posted articles from there. This allows me to skim the articles from all of the sites I subscribe to. If I want to read more or comment I visit the site itself.
