Doing a site: check to see how many pages a website has indexed at Google, I get all of them saying "suplemental result".

    What does this mean?

    Good question.

That has been the topic of a lot of speculation and theorizing, ranging from pages Google thinks are of lesser importance or redundant, to newer pages, to older pages, to pages that are about to be deleted from the index, to you-name-it. Do a search and you'll find at least one thread on this or any other forum.

Some of the pages in the supplemental index also show a date of Dec. 31, 1969. There's also been a lot of speculation about this but no definitive answers there either.

    Try these for starters:

It seems to have some thing to do with whether it has been indexed since it has changed (FreshBot must see the changes?)

But, I can't be sure... maybe it's got something to do with the last indexing date?
