what is subdomain

    I know it might be a very stupid question to most of you.
    but still i want to know what is sub domain

    like if my site is xxx.com thene will xxx.com/aaa will be my sub domain??
    am i right plz clarify

    In aaa.xxx.com aaa is your subdomain.

    Subdomains come in handy, they act in a way like there own domain.
