Stumbleupon is a lot of fun, and the more you use it the better it gets. There's some more good tips at http://www.squidoo.com/stumble-upon/ Riatsala
As a long-time user of stumble-upon I can only agree with Riatsala - Stumbleupon is indeed VERY fun. Just to add my two cents to what has already been mentioned; as a long time stumble-user it is my experience that over time you will start not using the "stumble" button that much, but instead find new sites through your stumble-upon network - see which sites your "stumble-friends" have on their blog. Or if you want to find something new within some niche or interest, you start by going to your favourite page within that area of interest and then checking out the reviews - then you check out the stumble-blogs of the most interesting reviewers. Chances are they will have other pages that will interest you. And btw - stumble video IMHO is the best working channel-surfing video site on the net.
