I am currently developing a free niche site creation course teaching people how to make money with niche sites. It is something I know well - and that is the problem I am having - I know my material too well. I have forgotten what it is like to struggle with the creation of these things, what problems I came up against etc... and it's these problems I want to be addressing with my course. So help me out here - what problems have you had with niche site creation (or what questions do you have?) I'm thinking things like * Keywords * Domains * SEO * CTR * Site creation etc, etc The more help the better! I'll see what I can do about answering your questions on here as well - not just run off taking your questions with me
I think including marketing is a must. I am having troubles myself working out which marketing pathways to take (e.g. buying ad space), and how much money is a reasonable amount to invest when trying to first advertise it. I would love for you to provide me with a link to the course once you have made some progress on it.
Well there's a good start - I'm obviously not explaining myself very well! What I am looking at is really micro niches. The creation of websites targetting a specific keyword which is determined to be a) profitable b) easy to rank for These are those small adsense sites that you see ranking for words such as "4 slice toaster" or "bird feeder poles" - like this one http://www.birdfeederpole.net/ They are designed to bring in a certain amount of adsense income with little effort... there is a famous 'xfactor' course done on it, and it is something I have been working on with a lot of success. The entire concept is one of 'set and forget', create these sites then they need minimum upkeep to rank and keep ranking - meaning they are constantly bringing you in residual income. so whilst one won't get you rich (though it will be making money) the idea is to have an 'empire' of them which take little upkeep and keep bringing you in cash. It is a very powerful effort for those that are looking for residual income. Obviously then my first lesson or 2 will have to be 'what is a micro niche site' and 'why use micro niche sites to make you money' A good start!
My big issue & problem is I cant find the right niche... very difficult. e.g : I got the right keyword, but the the .com , .net & org is not available anymore.
I'm really curious after checking out your birdfeederpole.net site, how much money does a site like that make you a month? If that is private, I understand.
Interesting. Obviously there is no 'cure all' for that - it is something that is just a sad fact of the competition! That said there are some important lessons to be learned 1) Try thinking outside the box. Too many people follow what they have read elsewhere - often this is a case of targeting kitchen products, or clickbank ones. They are useful but there are a TON of other niches that can be targeted 2) Use tools to make searching quicker. For example Google Keyword tool lets you download ALL of the suggsted keywords as text. So select all that fit your criteria (and make sure you have the pages showing 100 results) and download them, then upload them to the Godaddy bulk domain registration tool which will tell you which of those is available (make sure to click the options for .com, .org and .net) 3) You need a regular supply of ideas. Amazon is a great one but so is nipping out down the shops. I now keep a digital dictaphone with me at all times to make verbal notes when I see interesting things 4) Reconsider your criteria for keywords being worthwhile - are you being too stringent? Could well be the longer phrases are what you need. That isn't my site - just an example of what I am talking about (dont want the competition by showing my keywords). It depends on the keyword but so long as you are looking at average criteria a basic site will make about $40 to $60 a month on autopilot when set up. Not a huge amount but making 10 is very simple and requires little to no work when done. Thanks for that guys - I have now gone into detail with lessons on 1) alternative niche hunting ideas 2) putting financial expectations in place
Thanks for your providing valuable guidance. I really need somthing like that - a mini site empire - which may be bringing in some income everyday. Will you please guide how to start, what to do, and how much need to invest ? I can put in lot of efforts, writing articles, backlinking etc. I have just started few days back- www.freebesthealth.com
Define "good niche"? I ask because it is the keyword stats that matter, not the niche itself. Is there something specific you mean or just hunting keywords?
Investment is obviously very dependent... would you be looking to buy premade niche sites? use a creation service? source and create them yourself? outsource the writing and keyword research? there are a lot of ways to spend money doing this - most of which will help but it is certainly possible to do it by yourself If you are doing it by yourself it depends on how many domains you are looking to put together - because the only outlay then (assuming you dont buy any software either) will be domains and hosting.
Hey! I'm interested as well... I have the time and money to invest. Whether it would be buying ready made niche sites, or out sourcing for all. I would also be interested in your time, one on one, if at all possible. Maybe some chatting sessions by Skype, MSN, or YM to provide me with some guidance into what keywords to target, what platform to use and software, if any at all.... I know SEO from top to bottom - I don't know it all, but I know how to rank a site easily within the first page of Google. How fast I can get it there, depends on the competition and a few other things. Anyway... What do you say?
I'll send you a PM, obviously this is meant to be a generic me helping people with niche sites thread (whilst getting the bonus of learning what people need answering to help my own work) - the last thing I want to do is turn it into a sales thread about my services (which is, I think, against the rules).
