Hi Guys, I had an argument with the host provider since they suspended my account without any notice or warnings and they just say that it was suspended due to spamcop complaint.. Can you guys understand anything in the below lines.. please explain me where is spam in it.. so I can take care of in future My webmaster sends email through an Yahoo Account for link exchange and I did not understand why is my account suspended and they say it will not unsuspend forever..
They may have just suspended your account because someone took your email request as spam and it has your website in the email so your host could have shut you down due to a TOS violation. Even though your using yahoo to send the emails they could be taken as unsolicited email and because your pushing your site in the emails they class it as spam. Id say take a close look at the TOS for your host.
It doesn't seem to be a spam but it could be that someone took that email as an advertisement spam and reported you. You will probably have to explain what your site is about and how that email was sent to the hosting provider in order to get them to unsuspend your account.
Well guys nothing worked for me.. I tried explaining the host provider about the situation and our business.. but they said it is shared hosting and they can't afford spam.. So I moved my site to another server without any further discussion with them and wasting my time. Thank you for your comments..
in future id just send an email asking for link exchange and explain what your sites about and ho it benefits them, no links to your site that way if they do want a link exchange they can reply and your host wont ban you for what they see as spam. Some hosts are really just a pain in the ass when it comes to dealing with problems. wish you luck!
Yes.. and it is really a challenge now for the link exchangers to compose emails that does not contain any links and to make the receiver reply back to the emails sent by you.. I mean how many times will some reply back to a link exchange request without visiting their site.. Even genuine sites will have to face this problem.. if they are with a shared hosting service providers. Anyways.. I warn people about the host - 3ix.org which did this to me without any prior warning or notice. I had to ultimately move my entire domain to another host.
I always try to find a telephone number and call first. If they agree then they are expecting my email and the link gets actioned. Webmasters need to start to engage with their partners more rather than just sending email requests. You need to set yourself apart. But just make sure your site is worth linking to in the first place. SERIOUSLY ask yourself, "would I link to my own site?" If the answer is no, or maybe or don't know, then why should anybody else?
spam typically is UNsolicited mail such as yours clearly is the recipient most likely did NOT invite you to contact him in this subject - hence you have been WASTING his valuable time and resources such link exchange requests often are mailed out - earlier more than now - and often by automated software. myself i clearly consider such link exchange requests as spam and mark them ( sender and/or subject ) accordingly as spam - forever ... visit sites FIRST by surfing the site, by using contact FORM IF and only IF that site apparently participates in link exchange already. else leave ppl in peace working their own work. link exchange is OUT since long organic quality is IN
hans is correct any UNSOLICITED mail is considered spam and no data center will tolerate it. We will also suspend accounts for that because it is spam. If the users did not opt in to a mailing list and request you to email them, then it is spam and unacceptable. Even if you had your self a dedicated server or vps it will still be considered spam and the data center can and will take your server offline for it.
Yes it is, first he did not state that this is a advertisement. He did not give them a opt out link and he did not give them a physical home or business postal address. Those are the requirements off that web site link
How can we prevent that someone use our server to send spam? I have a VPS and my hosting hasclosed it because of spam, and I have never send an email, so it must be hacked.
