I see many people talking at forums that for interlinking the sites should be on different class C ip addresses I think that class of a ip address depends on the range from which a ip is assigned and class C ip addresses lie in the block with 1st octet in range of 192-223 but what if my website has a ip address 70.85.80.9 .. now what I can understand this is a class A ip address so how to link sites which are hosted on a class A ip address ? please correct me wherever I am wrong
http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/0,289893,sid9_gci212381,00.html * Class C - Class C addresses are commonly used for small to mid-size businesses. IP addresses with a first octet from 192 to 223 are part of this class. Class C addresses also include the second and third octets as part of the Net identifier. The last octet is used to identify each host. This means that there are 2,097,152 (221) Class C networks each with 254 (28 -2) possible hosts for a total of 536,870,912 (229) unique IP addresses. Class C networks make up an eighth of the total available IP addresses. Class C networks have a first bit value of 1, second bit value of 1 and a third bit value of 0 in the first octet. /\ Thanks but what I want to ask is that "but what if my website has a ip address 70.85.80.9 .. now what I can understand this is a class A ip address so how to link sites which are hosted on a class A ip address" ? also what I want to say is that every one talks about class C, but websites can also be on class a or class b and everyone just assumes that every website is on class c range why is that ?
