Sand box idea is to prevent instantaneous ranking of new websites. But Matt Cutts said that there wasn’t a sandbox, but the algorithm might affect some sites, under some circumstances, in a way that a webmaster would perceive as being sandboxed.

I don't know enough the sandbox. A security measure in the Java development environment. The sandbox is a set of rules that are used when creating an applet that prevents certain functions when the applet is sent as part of a Web page. When a browser requests a Web page with applets, the applets are sent automatically and can be executed as soon as the page arrives in the browser. If the applet is allowed unlimited access to memory and operating system resources, it can do harm in the hands of someone with malicious intent. The sandbox creates an environment in which there are strict limitations on what system resources the applet can request or access. Sandboxes are used when executable code comes from unknown or untrusted sources and allow the user to run untrusted code safely.

Does sandbox mean that you are not indexed by google?
And if so, how long does it last?

Google Sandbox used to be a hot debatable topic until recently...but not anymore! Google representatives have repeatedly announced that Sandbox phenomena is just a myth!!

Now, what people assume to be the ‘Sandbox effect’ is usually a penalty slapped by Google for employing bad SEO practices...If you employ white hat SEO techniques (on-page and off-page); there is no reason why you won’t get indexed fast!

    hello friend
Using the Java programming language and development environment, the sandbox is the program area and set of rules that programmers need to use when creating Java code that is sent as part of a page. Since a Java applet is sent automatically as part of the page and can be executed as soon as it arrives.

You know what guys, you should just stop talking. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE SANDBOX! If you site goes down in rank it just meets it is not quite old enough to rank for that particular keyword. Do not worry though! In time (at least two months of registering the domain) you should get your ranks back and they should stay permanently.

Believe me, I have been a SEO for three years now and I have never been penalized permanently. After all, a competitor could always use black hat SEO on you so there is no way that Google would penalize you for something you did not do. Remember, links only help you, not hurt you!
