Sandbox is an imaginary place where new sites are said to go after its 1st couple of months. In short, it means nothing because there is no such thing.

Does the sandbox stop a site from getting indexed completely? I have a 3 week old site that has backlinks and is still not indexed.

Sandbox is still know and refer as a myth or theory which means this so called sandbox can really not exist in the SEO world. Either way those who believe this theory need to analyze more things rather than believing easily.

The Google Sandbox theory refers to a method in which Google restrains and limits a website's search engine ranking and keyword dominance for a certain amount of time.

The Sandbox (a.k.a. Sandboxing or the sandbox effect or the Google penalty) is a name given to an observation about the way Google ranks web pages in its index. It is the subject of much debate—its existence has been written about[1][2] since 2004[3] but not confirmed, with several statements to the contrary.

Using the Java programming language and development environment, the sandbox is the program area and set of rules that programmers need to use when creating Java code (called an applet) that is sent as part of a page. Since a Java applet is sent automatically as part of the page and can be executed as soon as it arrives, the applet can easily do harm, either accidentally or as the result of malicious intent, if it is allowed unlimited access to memory and operating system services. The sandbox restrictions provide strict limitations on what system resources the applet can request or access. Essentially, the programmer must write code that "plays" only within the sandbox, much as children are allowed to make anything they want to within the confined limits of a real sandbox. The sandbox can be conceived as a small area within [h=4]LEARN MORE[/h]
