What is rss exactly? what is use of it?

    I'm SEO beginner; I want to know what mean by rss exactly? plz suggest

    also explain what is use of rss? if we don't put rss in our site, what will happen?

    RSS is a sort of summary of information on your site that people can 'subscribe to' and get automated updates. For example a blog may have an RSS feed, if I subscribe to the RSS feed My RSS reader (Firefox calls it LiveBookmarks) would automatically display any updates added to the RSS feed.

    Depending on what you are trying to accomplish RSS may or may not be useful to you. If you are just starting SEO then maybe RSS is a little way down the road.

    Ched - thx for the explanation - but I'm not quite sure yet on how it works. i'll try to explain and let me know if I got it or not - thx in advance for being patient. OK here goes:

    I (website owner) submits my site to RSS feed, then when someone visits the site, they would subscribe to the feed? and whenever I change content on the website, the subscriber gets an automatic update?

    RSS is important.

    Do you see the "Recent Blog:" field under our names here, that's from our RSS feeds. You can use your RSS from your social media profiles too. It's important to syndicate your new content to your followers in FB and Twitter too. Whatever will exert your authority the quickest!
