What is purpose of the login/pass when creating new custoemrs?

    Please pardon this simple question but we are migrating from an Emerald enviro and when creating customers in OG what is the purpose of the login and password at the initial screen? Web access? Some service (dial-up) access for later? Never had this before... Tks to any reply...

    While it's not required, it's a good idea to use. Normally it's for things like web access to their account via the customer web interface. Although many also use it for their dialup login/password.

    how do you define the difference between a dialup and a non-dialup customer in this case?

    don't really want our hosting customers to use their account name and password to dialup if their not suppose to

    Could be based on account type or what type of services they purchase I suppose.
