what is private registration at godaddy

I want to register for .info, they offer 0.89 usd , when I add private, they charge more usd 9 ++
I do not know should I take private or not, at namecheap the price is usd 1.99 with WhoisGuard
    Godaddy private vs namecheap WhoisGuard
    Where should I buy

Private registration places proxy information into the whois database for the TLD.

If you choose private registration then GoDaddy's own information will be placed into the whois database so people will not be able to readily see your own information.

Law enforcement still have access to your information if needed but for general privacy , it prevents common people from seeing who you are or where you are based.

You'll usually have your domains protected from WHOIS for only about a year and then you'll have to renew your private registration.

In my opinion, a WhoIs privacy isn't necessary unless you're doing something shady.

No regular visitors will ever check the WhoIs of a website.

I'm transferring 7 domains to Godaddy and I want to check private registration on for all. But later can I disable private registration selectively for each domain?
