I have many time stumble accross this word "press release". I couldn't really understand how the process works. May someone enlighten me on this matter please? 1- is it a free way to advertise a site? 2- if my site is not a service i.e. not selling anything but a forums base, can it be done with press release? A press release is a message/letter sent to the media to announce something or let them know about something newsworthy. Read more on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Press_release If you run a forum, I suppose you could write a short letter about your forum and send it to webmasters of related sites and hope that they post the announcement to their site.
thanks andreas on your suggestion about sending to webmaster. May I now how do i go about that? I wonder if other webmaster keens to post my introduction letter?
