What is PR?

I need to know what does PR mean? What does a number shows against any PR? I mean to say what is the difference between PR 1 and PR 10? which is better?
Please explain

 

PR means page rank. The more PR means more popular site. PR 10 is better than PR 1

Yeah PR means Page Rank and Google PR is most important for our website if our website have 5 up Google PR so its really nice ....
