The pligg software sucks. They don't protect it from spammers and most admins close down their sites fast.
They are Digg link sites, but not as good.....I do get some traffic from them, and yes, some are do follow and DO give you some backlinks
I just purchased a CMS solution using pligg, not that easy to use and the seller hasn't made any documentation on his work, really hard to work out and on top, he has put his own ads everywhere and you have to go through every single file to get rid of them. It's a pain to use Pligg this way. my opinion
Pligg is a buggy CMS. Very hard to maintain if you are not a techy guy or have a tech team to fix the bugs/issues. Niche pligg sites can deliver good traffic to your website. But do not go for spamming pligg sites as some spammers do with autopligg softwares.
