    That site pings your site to around 20-30 Popular Bookmarking sites like technorati etc.. etc..
    so that these site knows what have you updated in your blog

    Pingomatic is a tool to ping sites like technorati and icerocket at one go. An alternative to it is pingoat. ( I prefer pingoat)

    Both Ping-O-Matic and Pingoat are great, and I use them both. They tell popular sites when you update your blog, so every time I make a new post I go on one of them and let it ping everything.

    It looks as if Pingoat has more sites in the list of sites that it's able to ping, and Ping-O-Matic never seems to be able to ping me on My Yahoo!, while it succeeded with Pingoat.

    We have formed a secret society to stand against Planet Pingo. It consisted of some greatest mind of Earth. Couple of hrs back we have launched a series of counter attacks.... and am happy to inform that we have won.
