Hi all, I have read that if I ping my back links it can help Search Engine index my back links more quickly. I found some PING services on the internet but I don't understand how they work? Does it like Ping command which we use when we want to check a connection between our computer to an other computer in LAN? And I want to develop a PING back link tool by myself because there are some inconvenient when I use free PING services. So someone can tell me about PING mechanism? Thanks in advance.
Ping its just like a signal for search engines that tell it that any pinged page is now updated and please revisit and reindex this page for me. Thats why we ping every single page after adding our link on it, that help us in indexing our links and PR update.
gwbbayby, thanks for your post but that is not exactly what I want. I want to know how pingomatic can update search engine? How it can let search engine know there are some new posts/articles by a PING? That's what I want to understand mechanism of PING, not using PING service.
Does the "signal" you mentioned like a http request to the link? If I open my web browser and type my link into address bar and navigate to the page, it can be called a PING? Or I open my command window (Open Run window and type cmd and Enter - for Microsoft Windows systems) and enter this command: ping www.mysite.com/link-want-to-ping.html, it can be called a PING?
Pinging - can be done only through the search engine website. For example you can do it by submitting your site to http://www.google.com/webmasters/ . Pinging will only quicken the process of visiting your site by the web spider. It is not necessary, but it can be helpful.
Tomecki, is pingomatic.com the search engine website? I think they are not but they can simulate a PING to the link via services they supply (as Webblog, Feed Burner, ...) So how can I do like pingomatic.com by develop a PINGING tool by myself in php or .net environment?
pingomatic.com is a website that will ping the "signal" to the search engines. This website visits search engines and their ping service and submits your details. If you would like to write a tool for that purpose you should at first find a ping website, note a web address like http://blo.gs/ping.php and submit details to the form. It can be done in c++, perl, ruby, php, java, c# or anything you wish.

You might want to look at pubsubhubbub instead; pinging relies on the other sites to come and find the information you have notified them about - pubsub TELLS them so they have the information immediatly - i.e there is no delay. http://www.im-wizard.com/is-pinging-your-blog-really-worth-it-it-might-not-be/
be careful when you ping, if you ping excessively you will get bloicked by the blog search engines and then you will be releasing content and no bot will come to your site
