When a link is posted, it can be (an image, a file link or a video link) it is initiated by your website name.... So it will also count a visit to your website! A 1000 live users on a site (no matter what it is) can give you a good output in the sense of traffic..... Now its up to u how u drive that traffic.... As far as SEO concerns then I suggested you to use page targeted seo for some very dense keyword whose search results are popular like (a million in this month or more).... Use combination's of keywords that are very common..... This can help you alot! Also check your site online for seo analysis.... There are many seo tools around.....
