what is parking a domain?

    I've heard this term alot but what is parking a domain do?

    When parked, a domain is redirected to a server that displays a page with advertising related to the domain name.
    Tipically, when domains with traffic expired, it is reregistered and parked.
    See in the signatures for an example.

    lol im not the only person that doesn't know what a parked domain is lol i was just too scared to ask but i think i get it :)
