what is Over optimization?

Hi friends!!I want to know what is Over optimization?And What is the Google over optimization penalty?Can someone explain to me.

 

Over Optimization happens when your website is considered "too good" by Google - either in terms of a sudden volume of backlinks, or because of heavy on-page optimization. In other words, if Google considers that your website optimization is beyond acceptable limits , your website will be red-flagged and automatically restricted or penalized.

As we all know, Google rarely does anything at half-measure. Traditionally, sites that violated filter algorithms like Panda took a hit in rankings, but the penalty for over-optimization is de-indexing.

That’s right – if you’re penalized, you are removed from the Google index and the bots stop crawling your site, which means that you are invisible to the search engine.

 

Over optimization is said to be getting too many unnatural links to your website. Especially getting links from link farms and websites with more OBL. Never post on websites that has low quality content and that has more OBL. If caught for over optimization, what happens is obvious, what can Google do? just remove your website from its search.

I have some sites that were over-optimised and well, I did get penalized by Google and very so...since the Penguin Update.

To over-optimize a site it means ( in my experience and opinion ):
- to get to many keywords ( only put 1-3 main focus keywords )
- keyword appears to many times ( do not put your keyword to many times, just a few )
- keyword appears un-naturaly in your text ( do not put you keyword where is not natural to appear )
- keyword built phrases ( do not build entire phrases just so u can add more keywords, that is not good )
- don't use to many headlines and heading with your keyword in it ( one is just ok )
