What is "open_basedir = (no value)"

    Can anybody go into some detail about this?

    I have LOADS of my scripts requiring it but my host says it cant be done

    This is in the wrong section, I suggest you request it moved before you get an infraction :)

    The host will need to have open_basedir enabled. If they don't, you will have to find a new host that does (e.g me :D)

    I think you want open_base disabled , but your host enabled this, right ?

    Well, I dont think they will disable it if they are serious about the server security.

    Allows php scripts to go outside the users ownership and access files. No host is going to allow you to do that unless they have other security measures in place preventing access outside your folders which then wouldn't be any different from having it off.
