In my opinion a niche can be categorized as market in laymen’s terms, however it is not just classified as a market but a more specific and smaller section of of a particular market that is highly popular and in demand. For example Basketball is a Market. Basketball shoes can be considered a subcategory. And Basketball shoe laces “could†be considered a niche. Of course this is just an example and there may be better ones out there, but this is the first that comes into mind. Of course there are many other factors to consider as well, such as supply, demand, competition etc… Anyway hope that helps.
