~~ What Is Needed To Start A Non Profit Organization?

    Hi all,

    Was wandering if anyone here on DP has formed a non profit (503 C)here in the USA.

    What's needed?

    Can it be done wthout an attorney?

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    My dad set one up for his church ministry outreach thing. Its no joke. It costs into a grand without a lawyer and the application takes many hours to fill out. I think you can hire an online firm to guide you through it for about 1000 plus another 1000 or so for the irs filing fees.
