I have an Internet marketing, blogging, and SEO blog under the domain www.omegaweb.com. I'm a college student and although I'm not necessarily looking to sell my website, I'd be willing to for the right price. I don't have the time to keep up with such a demanding blog and I could use the money. The theme is totally custom built with the Genesis framework with WordPress. It has a few premium plugins like CommentLuv as well. Domain: www.omegaweb.com (registered since 1995) PageRank: 1 Alexa Rank: 89,222 Pageviews per month: 9,220 Visits per month: 6,300 Unique visits per month: 5,200 Google AdSense income (per month): About $15-20 consistently Affiliate marketing income (since May 2012): $200 Posts: 114 Comments: 1,586 I can't think of any other statistics that aren't accessible to the public... So what do you think? What's my site worth?
Based on your give data your website is worth around $200-600. It depends on how much someone will be willing to pay because it requires a lot of work to keep it going and without news posts it's nearly worthless. I noticed that recently your Alexa rank have went up so make sure you keep your site going for at least one year and you will be able to sell it for much higher value that it is now.
Hmm... I was really hoping it was worth around $1,000. I would probably even take $800 for it. I'm just frustrated with this niche because there's SO MANY people in it. And I could use the money to put towards a new car. Where do you think the best place to sell it is? Would I get any action if I put it on here for a BIN price of $1000 or best offer?
The best place to sell website is on Flippa because of many buyers there. Second most popular place is here on DP but you will never get more than $100 for this website on DP. It's fairly new websites and since you have growing user base because of CommentLuv plugin make sure you keep this site up. Within year you will be able to sell it for a lot more. And car is the worst investment ever. You will spend a lot of money for gas and service/repair and value for this car will drop eventually. Website like your can go only up from here if you keep posting new posts regularly.
Wow! Registered in 1995! Back in those days it cost hundreds of dollars to get a domain registered. I know because we waited until the prices became reasonable before getting into The Game, even though I have been on the Internet before the Web (around 1992). Anyhow, I would suggest you look at Sitepoint for flipping. With a bit of polish and squeeze page techniques you may get your $1000 even! DNForum might be worth a consideration too. Good Luck! Oh, it just occurred to me... I think one method of appraisal is to take the historic monthly income and multiply it by 10 to 20 times. This basically means that if such an income continues an Investor can expect the purchase price back within a year or two. Just saying... GL
It's all very confusing because I sold a blog on Flippa last year for $800. It made $10 a month with AdSense but I had over 700 tech-related posts, which is probably why it sold for so much. I also recently sold AquariumWatch.com on Flippa for $111. I really feel like you can get the best price on Flippa, but the fees are so outrageous that it's a big gamble listing your site there. It cost me $60 to list AquariumWatch.com and it sold for $111, but then they also take a $10 selling fee, so in the end, I made $41 on a site that sold for $111. I haven't been back to Flippa since because that's completely unacceptable.
Don't low ball yourself! This site should sell easily on Flippa for no less than $900, because of the PR, Alexa Rank, Domain Age, Income Earned, Income Streams. Flippa has two listing fees, and success fees now... Established sites pays $29 listing fee, and 5% success fee. While New Sites pay $9 listing fee, and 15% success fee, which I found out that it is better off to go with being an established site and paying the $29 dollars so they don't take so much from the success fee. Remember to always add your reserve price if you don't want to sell it lower than a certain amount.
I already sold this site on Flippa for $800. After it's gone, it really feels nice to be free of blogging! Now I can move on to projects that will make me much more money. After Flippa and PayPal fees, my profit was $700-something. I would have liked to get a little bit more for it, but I'm just happy it's out of my hands.
