So I recently backordered a domain at GoDaddy now I obiously don't want to give out the domain so lets just use domain4.com and domain9.com ("domain" is not real but 4 and 9 are real) now I want domain9.com and I have it backordered, what is my chance of getting it? I just checked the "domain aftermarket" and domain4.com is up for sale for $4,500 would that kinda bring up the value of the domain I want? Also the domain expires Jan 5th so if I do get it how long would it take? I know this is kind of a hard question since I'm not stating the exact domain but lets just use those as examples.
From my limited researching, backordering through godaddy basically interprets into a .1% chance of getting that domain. Back-ordering in itself is pretty hard to obtain a good domain since most sought after domains will get sent to TDNAM prior to getting fulfilled. Only those without any bids or only your back-order will normally go your way. I'm sure someone much more experience will be able to elaborate more on this, but yeah, back-ordering through godaddy only give s a very slim chance of success.
Don't worry about the high asking price of domain4.com people ask all sorts of outrageous prices on tdnam, they just sit there and never sell so do not affect the real market. A better indication is the price that similar domains actually sold at. Check namebio.com to compare domain sale prices.
ha there are domains listed for 5 mill on that website. The thing is this is a website development portfolio site so I could just buy domain9web.com instead of domain9.com so I wanted to know my chances because I couild just get domain9web.com
So what do you guys say? should I wait for the backorder and just have my 50 50 chance or buy domain9web.com and just get domain9.com when its avaiable?
A while ago, probably 4 years ago, I backordered 28 domains through Godaddy. Up to today I get notifications when Whois changes, but Godaddy never managed to backorder one domain succesfully. I do not recommend their service and it is very expensive - that for nothing.
I've had excellent success through snapnames.com You only pay if you win (although you'll pay $59 - $79). I suggest creating an account there, and backordering it. You can try backordering through several avenues, and generally only pay the one that wins.
Thanks for the help guys, what I'm gonna do now is buy a domain9---.com and just buy domain9.com if it becomes avaiable. Help me choose (Its a web development portfolio site) 1. www.domain9web.com 2. www.domain9studios.com
I like the first one... and...i just sent you a pm, I am interested in your services if you are still offering...
