Dear DP community, What would you say is the best method for targeted traffic for online marketing? As we all know their is lots of forms for traffic!
There really is no #1 way in this regard. It could be article marketing, it could be advertising (placing ads in other webmasters' sites). It could be word of mouth, it could be a signature. All are equally good ways to get "targted traffic." Maybe the question you are asking is which method is the best to get A LOT of targeted traffic??? If so, that would be advertising, with word of mouth coming in second. Everything else is bottom of the barrel.
depends on your method of making money. For most its either advertising or selling products/services. If you are advertising then you basically just want any traffic at all, but preferably people who are interested in reading your content. If you are selling products/services then you want traffic in which they are looking to purchase a product such as yours. I personally run a website where I sell a service. So I want people who are going to buy my service. In my case, and from my experience the best targeted traffic comes from: 1. organic google search pages (ie. ranking high for my prime keywords. If I am selling ford f150 trucks then I want to rank high for "ford f150" or "f150") 2. forums related to your niche. 3. people searching on youtube for your niche. the main idea here is to get people who are looking for your product and service and bring them to your page, so you can get to potentially sell them your product. The above poster said advertising was most important and I personally disagree. Just think, when you type something into google, what do you trust more? The sponsored results (on the side) or the organic results? Obviously for most people its the organic results. I also think word of mouth is better than advertising. About 10% of my traffic comes from facebook. Mind you, I spend 0$ on facebook advertising and i don't spam my website on facebook. All of that traffic is coming people recommending my product to other people via group pages or emails.
I think there is nothing more than what forums can do for you. I am seeing huge traffic from forums everytime and they are the best one of them.
Then you shouldn't have a problem showing her your site that is listed under the most typed in keywords. Uh, just about all are searching for videos to entertain themselves. Sorry, wrong again. People know that there is just as much shit in a search as there are in a lot of ads. And while a webmaster, who is lucky enough to even land high in a search, is seeing maybe, 50 hits a day, if that, and with most being curiosity seekers, bored window shoppers hopping from site to site, an advertiser who knows how to advertise will see thousands, which most will be serious buyers. Um, getting just a few visitors here and there, along with a high bounce rate is not considered "huge traffic," there, uh, "expertofexperts."
- Find forums related to your niche - submit articles/press releases - blog posting - facebook/twitter - banner advertisements on related websites (depending on your budget) All these methods have helped me attract decent traffic levels Hope this helps
There are several ways to get targeted traffic. Some of my favorite are: PPC SEO (organic search traffic) Article Marketing Direct Advertising / Media Buying (find related websites, put a banner up)
