What is more significant - PageRank or Alexa?

I have heard mixed things about Alexa, so I am curious as far as traffic. My Alexa is around 600K - not great, but not horrible. I am not sure what my PR is. I am curious, which one really matters or what is the difference?

 

pagerank.
alexa shows you percent of visitors to your site among all that installed alexa toolbar.
pagerank shows you how much google trust your site.
the more google trust you the more traffic you will get from SERP.
alexa wont bring you any traffic.

Thanks for the information. I try not to get too wrapped around this stuff and just focus on good content. But, I guess you want to see the fruits of your labor! I think Alexa is good for ads and such. But, traffic I think is the ultimate goal. Not only for readers and ad clicks, but reputation, etc. Thanks again!

 

you are so wrong if you think that high alexa rank means anything for reputation,
smalest warez or porno site, with stupid pop-ups and loop redirects will beat you in no time in alexa ranking.
just forget about it.

 

I am not sure I said that, ? but thanks for the information. I didn't know those sites could get high alexa... I think good content is good for reputation and readership, and alexa does play in for ads.

Ofcourse pagerank is more valued than Alexa.
As pagerank has to be earned by getting some good quality content as well as by good quality backlinks. Where alexa can easily be manipulated by various free and paid surfing softwares.

Not pagerank (toolbar pagerank has less relation with serps), not alexa (it is very inaccurate and does not help you a lot ) What actually matters is sales.

 

Pagerank is more powerful than alexa, as alexa rank can be manipulated.

 

Page rank which indicates the strong back links of a site and alexa toolbar track only those browser's which having alexa toolbar installed..

 

To me, PR is something that is very legitimate and has a complex but valid formula. Alexa holds of no significance at all. It can be easily manipulated and this is a widely accepted fact for sometime now.
