It seems like there are a lot of "tricks" to get a high ranking: use keyword phrases in your content; include keywords in alt tags, title, description, and other meta tags; include links to relevant sites; get back links through social bookmarking sites, link exchange, etc. Then I hear that to keep yourself at the top of SERPs, you need to be "up to date" on SEO techniques and on the various changes that Google and others are constantly making. First of all, how can you keep up to date on such things? I thought Google and the other search engines keep this information very private. Isn't it better to concentrate on running a good business and having satisfied customers? I agree that you don't want to be dumb about it. You should use some of the well known SEO techniques. But some of these "techniques" fall under smart business. You want to publish articles and such for general PR purposes, not necessarily for SEO. You want to provide links to related sites to help your customers, not necessarily for SEO. It seems like focusing on SEO instead of the business is kind of like letting the tail wag the dog. So, how important are the latest SEO tricks compared to generally running a good business?
Every business needs SEO and it's not mandatory for business owners to concentrate on this part. They can hire people who specialize in SEO. Rest aside you might be running a really good business but no one will be able to find you online if your SEO is not right.
Having a good, quality business practice is essential for gaining website traffic. The SEO tricks work well on legitimate websites and they tend to fall flat on lots of money-only sites. Go for quality work first, then use the tricks to get momentum.
Hello my friend, In my opinion, having a good, quality business practice is essential for gaining website traffic. And so my friend you can do SEO for your website business it is necessary because it definitely increase the page rank of website.
Those tricks that you quote aren't really tricks, just good web building practice, which incidentally help in search engine rankings. First and foremost build a good business, with strong foundations and a solid business plan, then build the website that is accessible, reads well and is user friendly, then get somebody to help you promote your site on every channel available; search engines, social media, email marketing, viral marketing, video and even offline mediums.
These aren't tricks at all, just techniques used to make your site more readable to search engines. Search engines, especially Google, tries to understand the contents of your page, and then measures it's importance by the number of links it has pointing to it. This is just good practice to follow. I would apply these techniques consitantly, and you'll see results.
Hi I think new techniques definitely help a lot as the algorithm keeps changing so one needs to keep a track of the new methods and tricks But the constant SEO work and the basic techniques for a website are also necessary else one's website can drop in rankings Therefore a balance has to be maintained between for excellent results Good Luck with your website though!! thanks, Ankur
Concentrate on your business. Create CONTENT for your customers. Any "tricks" you use for SEO may not work tomorrow as the search engines change their algorithms constantly. Concentrating on SEO and ignoring your users will eventually mean you are out of business at worst.
I've found that simply doing a little bit of the right thing every day leads to success. With that in mind, learn about the basics of on page SEO and make sure you implement it in every page you put up. Then make sure you have a marketing plan that includes getting people to notice your site and link to it with the proper keywords. Then rinse and repeat every day.
I think we just need to prioritize the consistency of work with the quality of course then tricks is the least priority..
SEO is a part of marketing process which should done continuously. Getting a rank unethically is temporary. It is not advisable for a firm seeking long term business. It better to have continuous, stable seo plan rather than searching for short cuts.
