What is more effective: a squeeze page or a pre-sell page with an opt in?

With a squeeze page you can get all their focus on the opt in form but would a pre-sell landing page with an opt in (free ebook) work better? The problem is if they click on the affiliate link on the pre-sell page without opting in and don't buy then I've lost out on a potential customer...

if the offer is good squeeze pages will always work good. You want to get the email to send more information.

    hey michelle,
that is a pretty good question, although i have never actually tested that out. I think you need to remember that your main goal in IM is to make a sale. Therefore, if you have a really well put 2gether sales page i would def. go with that over a squeeze page that is looking more for opt-ins. The best proven method is to created a sales page that has an opt-in email box float over the screen in a time that is designated by you. You can create these with aweber and they are extremely effective!
    Good Luck:)

The best thing to do would be to test it. Do a squeeze page for about a month and see how it goes. Then try an opt-in.

First, let's define which is which.

A landing page is a web page that pre-sells and has your embedded affiliate link that goes to the main site. That's it.

A squeeze page is often used with an opt-in form. You normally offer a free ebook or a free tutorial or free videos - something free of quality.

You get people to opt-in to your list but DON'T just give them the freebie right away. Once they have it, there is no need for them to confirm.

Let them opt-in. They have to confirm their email. They are sent to a DOWNLOAD page where they click a link to get the freebie.

That way you have a name and they have a freebie.
