What is max page rank have you achieved by submitting to free directory?

    It's rather easy to get PR3, not hard to reach PR4 and quite difficult to go 5 or over.
    I talk from my own experience. ;)

    I think you can expect to get PR4 fairly easily if you just spend enough time on free directories.

    I have one that got PR5, but it was some time ago. I don't think you can do that these days as there are way more useless free directories around unfortunately.

    why would paid ones give more? That doesn't make sense. There are lots of PR4-PR5 free directories out there, those will definitely help...

    I have gotten PR4 without submitting to any directories or any promotion. it's this mystical monster called content. So nobody can tell you what the maximum PR they got from just free directories.

    After reading this post, it seems like the consensus is that PR caps at about 4 for free directories... for those of you who have made it to PR 5+, what techniques did you use to get there? Paid listings?
